The passing has been made known of Thérèse Brenet, winner of the 1965 Grand Prix de Rome and a professor at the Paris Conservatoire until her retirement in 2000.
She composed both tonal and atonal works.
She shared the family home in the 16th arrondissement with her unmarried sister Antoinette, a professor of Classics.
