With two days to go, the 106th Salzburg Festival is projecting ticket sales in excess of 99 percent. This covers 172 performances over 45 days at 19 venues, plus the youth programme “jung & jede*r”.
Total attendance amounts to quarter of a million – 261,300 from 84 countries – an impressive achievement, by any measure.
Many events will have been booked well in advance of the recent upheavals in the festival administration.
