The concert is the first that the ensemble dedicates to Negro Spirituals and gospel music and features a program led by the ensemble’s principal conductor Diana Carolina Cifuentes and assistant conductor Jeisson Segura Herrera. The evening traces the roots of the Afro-American musical tradition through a choral narrative encompassing themes of pain, resistance, and hope.
