Activists in Jordan are hustling for a boycott of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli’s upcoming concert in the historic site of Petra at the end of November. They maintain Bocelli is a self-proclaimed friend of Israel who prayed at the western wall in Jerusalem on his last visit and has performed at a fundraising gala for the Israel Defence Forces. There has been no response from the Bocelli organisation. It is unlikely the Jordanian authorities will acquiesce to agitators.
