The board of the Madison Symphony Orchestra this morning ratified Laura Jackson as its next music director, starting in September.
Jackson, 59, succeeds John DeMain who led for 32 seasons.
She became director of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009. She married University of Michigan musicologist Mark Clague in 2006.
