The Pittsburgh Symphony has signed a new six-year contract with music director Manfred Honeck. It will take him to 25 years with the orchestra, the longest serving conductor in its 131-year history.
Honeck, 67, is a former violist in the Vienna Philharmonic, where his brother, Rainer, is concertmaster.
