A court in Tbilisi, Georgia, has passed sentence on the international bass Paata Burchuladze for organising a protest last year against a dubious election result. Burchuladze, 71, was among ten people who received an identical sentence. Addressing the court, Paata Burchuladze said he had “nothing to justify” and remains convinced that he is “on the right path.” He added that “Georgia will never surrender,” continuing, “the people are wise and patriotic.
