The new Dean of Winchester Cathedral is out in the community recruiting choristers. The Very Reverend Chris Palmer said: ‘We are surrounded by music piped to us, but far less often encouraged to make music. ‘Singing is a universal language and contributes to mental wellbeing. It teaches discipline in a fun way and develops young people’s attention spans.
