コンクール創設者のエレナ・ラヴレノヴァ氏は、「韓国に最高のパートナーがいたため、韓国を選んだ」と述べた。また、現在では応募者の大半がアジア出身であると付け加えた。

The Ysaye International Music Competition, named for Belgium’s paramount composer and held for the past eight years in his birthplace Liège, will stage its finals this weekend at the Incheon Arts Center in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. There will be 20 finalists, out of 121 applicants from 23 countries.
Competition founder Elena Lavrenova (pictured) said : ‘We chose Korea because we had the best partners in Korea.’ She added that the majority of applicants now come from Asia.
