The state-imposed conductor, sacked by La Fenice after verbally abusing its musicians, has sent a lawyer’s email to the theatre claiming her dismissal was ‘null, unlawful, ineffective, and discriminatory’. Venezi, 36, is demanding reinstatement.
The demand was deliered hours after the theatre’s new-season presentation.
‘She can obviously proceed,’ retorted Sovrintendente Nicola Colabianchi. ‘We have no problem; our lawyers will respond. We are completely calm.’ Colabianchi added that Venezi was never in possession of a signed contract.
