The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has confirmed Youngji Kim as a member of its first violins after an eight-month trial. She previously won tenure in the Cleveland Orchestra in 2024, and before that was in the Minnesota Orchestra for two years.
She was born and went to university in South Korea, before obtaining a master’s in music at Yale.
