Message received: Due to extreme heat, access to enter the Esplanade for the July 4 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will now begin at 4 p.m., not 12 noon as previously announced. There is no change to the event schedule: the Pops concert still begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m., following the fireworks display. Visitors are encouraged to adjust their plans accordingly, remain in cool locations before traveling, and avoid arriving before the gates open.
